Role Summary
This role is the regulatory nerve centre of a major project environment.
You are the single point of contact for environmental, socioeconomic, and health compliance across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Think of it as:
where regulation meets execution, and nothing slips through the cracks.
Core Responsibilities
1. Environmental & Social Impact Oversight
- Coordinate preparation of ESHIA and Environmental Management Plans
- Work with environmental, social, and health consultants and project teams
- Ensure integration of environmental requirements into project design and execution
- Oversee environmental, socioeconomic, and health compliance frameworks
2. Permitting & Regulatory Stewardship
- Secure all required permits, licenses, and approvals
- Track compliance status across project lifecycle
- Maintain structured regulatory reporting for government and lenders
- Interface with regulatory authorities and project governance bodies
3. EPC Contractor & Technical Review
- Review EPC environmental and regulatory deliverables
- Ensure contractor plans meet project and lender standards
- Align execution with contractual environmental obligations
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and project teams
4. Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance Systems
- Develop and implement EMP monitoring systems
- Track environmental performance indicators across project phases
- Prepare internal and external compliance reports
- Ensure alignment with lender and government reporting requirements
5. Stakeholder Engagement & Training
- Coordinate environmental training and awareness sessions
- Engage project teams and contractors on compliance expectations
- Support stakeholder communication on environmental performance
- Strengthen environmental culture across project execution teams
Candidate Profile
Education
- University degree in Natural or Environmental Sciences
Experience & Knowledge
- Previous experience in a similar environmental or regulatory role
- Familiarity with project financing environments is an advantage
- Understanding of country-specific environmental regulations preferred
- Exposure to EPC or infrastructure project environments is valuable

- Strong regulatory interpretation and compliance tracking ability
- Ability to coordinate multiple technical stakeholders simultaneously
- Clear and confident communication in English
- Strong documentation and reporting discipline
- High attention to detail under project pressure
